Contract: Full Time – Permanent

Reward: Salary negotiable, dependent on experience.

Basic Hours: 9am- 5pm Monday to Friday.

Location: Office based, though will travel to meetings at the expense of the company.

We are a bespoke joinery manufacturer based in Wembley, successful at delivering sophisticated innovative joinery solutions to private and commercial clients. From office to site, we pride ourselves in our professional and approachable service, whether the project is small or a complete joinery fit-out.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ‘Estimator’ to join our team.

The Successful Candidate:
 

You will assist and support the business, subsequently to win Tenders. You will compile estimates of how much it will cost to provide a client or potential client with joinery products or services, by working out how much a project is likely to cost and create budgets accordingly. You will be results driven, with meticulous attention to detail. You are proactive, adaptable to new processes, have self-awareness and humility. You understand the importance of data confidentiality, are aware of latest price trends and related regulations.

Skills & Attributes:
  • Communication – An Adaptable, proactive communicator with Good level of English and confidence to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Field experience – Has tangible understanding of how a project is formed, with ability to provide insight into areas where projects have hidden profit.
  • Technical Drawing Reading – Knows how to read project specifications and interpret them on drawings.
  • Holistic – Has the means to think ahead to see the completed structure and how it’s assembled to leverage understanding of the project and make adjustments for winning the bid.
  • Analytical Thinker- Keen negotiator who is quick with numbers, good with math and understands the sequence of a project.
  • Multitask – Prioritises workload to balance several tasks whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy on the information pertinent to the conversation or project in hand.
  • Persistent – follows through on every aspect of the bid, meets deadlines, and ensures success regardless of the time needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conversing with clients/external designers to fully understand requirements prior to quoting
  • Provide a complete estimation service for all joinery products.
  • Interrogation of bills of quantities, Schedules, Specifications and Architects drawings.
  • Identify labour, material, and time requirements by assessing proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents alike.
  • Analyse quotes to maximise the company’s ability to be competitively priced, securing profit for future work.
  • Attend and arrange pre and post tender meetings, generally in the Greater London area.
  • Follow up enquiries; negotiate costings and budgets across clients, subcontractors and external consultants.
  • Maintain and create sustainable business relationships.
  • Attend site for surveys and meetings with clients.

Requirements:

Essential
  • 5+ years’ experience in Carpentry/Joinery
  • Technical Drawing Reading
  • Previous construction site experience
  • Excellent level of English Language.
Beneficial
  • Polish language, as the majority of our joiners are Polish.
